Auricular Acupuncture

Auriculotherapy, also known as auricular acupuncture, is a specialised therapy that uses precise points on the ear to support whole-body healing. Based on the principle that the ear is a microsystem reflecting the entire body, this technique helps regulate pain, calm the nervous system, and restore balance—naturally and effectively.

Tiny needles or acupressure seeds are applied to stimulate nerve pathways and encourage the body's self-healing response. Auriculotherapy is especially effective for stress, anxiety, insomnia, addiction support, pain management, and emotional regulation. This gentle yet powerful therapy can be used on its own or combined with other therapies for enhanced results.

Auricular Acupuncture: A Microsystem Approach

Auricular acupuncture, or auriculotherapy, is based on the concept that the ear represents a microsystem of the entire body. Stimulating specific points on the ear is believed to influence corresponding bodily functions and alleviate various conditions.

  • Pain Management: Auricular acupuncture has been effective in reducing chronic musculoskeletal pain, especially in the lumbar spine.

  • Postoperative Pain: Patients who received auricular acupuncture after surgery experienced decreased pain and reduced need for pain medications.

  • Depression: A randomized clinical trial suggests that auricular acupuncture is safe and may lead to symptom remission in depression over time.

  • Anxiety Reduction: Studies have shown auricular acupuncture to be effective in reducing perioperative anxiety.

  • Post-Stroke Rehabilitation: Auricular therapy, as an adjunctive treatment, improved post-stroke motor impairment and self-care ability.

  • Veterans' Health: Veterans with PTSD reported improved sleep quality, increased relaxation, and decreased pain after receiving auricular acupuncture treatments.
